Whether you hear about it online, in a newspaper, on the radio or the TV, most news is, well, generally bad. And that can get kind of depressing. Blogger Eazibee agrees. A little worn out by media negativity, Eazibee started the blog Reasons to be Hopeful to counter this trend in some small way. Eazibee compiles really positive news stories, every day of the year and shares it with anyone who cares to listen. We highly recommend this blog - it’s a breath of fresh air!

What happens when (in his words) a guilty liberal finally snaps, swears off plastic, goes organic, becomes a bicycle nut, turns off his power, composts his poop, and, while living in New York City, generally turns into a tree-hugging lunatic who tries to save the polar bears and the rest of the planet from environments catastrophe while dragging his baby daughter and Prada-wearing, Four Seasons-loving wife along for the ride? A great blog is born (not to mention carbon-emissions were reduced)! Inspiring, jaw-dropping (a 43-year-old man giving away a 42-inch television for the sake of the planet is exactly that), and extremely interesting, No Impact Man (aka Colin Beavan) is an experiment worthy of today’s Blog Award! Congrats!

Look in the Urban Dictionary for the term, “Dooced” and you’ll find the definition, “to lose one’s job because of one’s website.” Coined in 2002 by blogger and former web designer Heather B. Armstrong who was fired by her employer for writing about her job and co-workers on her blog, the phrase refers to her pseudonym “Dooce” under which she writes her addictive blog at Dooce.com. In Heather’s words, the blog, “chronicles my life from a time when I was single and making a lot of money as a web designer in Los Angeles, to when I was dating the man who would become my husband, to when I lost my job and lived life as an unemployed drunk, to when I married my husband and moved to Utah, to when I became pregnant, to when I threw up and became unbearably swollen during the pregnancy, to the birth, to the aftermath, to the postpartum depression that landed me in a mental hospital. I’m better now.” Brimming with laugh-out-loud entries, stunning photography and candid discussion about such topics as mental health, motherhood, mammaries and Mormonism, it’s clear that Heather’s former employer’s loss was the blogosphere’s gain. Congrats!www.dooce.com

Tim Ferriss has it all figured out at the ripe old age of 30. Does the idea of outsourcing your life, working 4-hours a week and taking frequent mini-retirements appeal to you? It appealed to him, and now he’s living a life most of us only dream about - and he wants you to live yours the same way, too. First American in history to hold a Guinness World Record in tango, National Chinese kickboxing champion, hurling competitor in Ireland, and actor on hit TV series in mainland China and Hong Kong, this Princeton University graduate speaks six languages, runs a multinational firm from wireless locations worldwide, and has been a popular guest lecturer at Princeton University since 2003, where he presents entrepreneurship as a tool for ideal lifestyle design and world change. His book, The Four-Hour Workweek is a New York Times, Wall Street Journal and BusinessWeek Best Seller. His blog is teeming with fabulous tales of his ultra-vagabond lifestyle and useful tips on how you can break away from the nine-to-five grind and start living life the way it is meant to be lived. Check out Tim’s latest exploits at http://www.fourhourworkweek.com/blog/about/ and congratulate him on winning today’s Blog Award!

As sidesplitting as it is moving, Turns Out You Can Be … A Little Pregnant details 35-year-old Julie’s madcap misadventures in infertility, pregnancy, and parenthood.
The 35 year-old is married to Paul and they conceived their son after four rounds of IVF. Along the way they experienced an ectopic pregnancy, a miscarriage, a complicated third pregnancy, and, finally, the birth of Charlie, 10 weeks premature. Her hilarious takes on such everyday happenings as wrapping up the holidays, her son’s middle-of-the-night fears, and his ability to “rouse the dead from their uneasy graves with the power of a single dimension-tearing scream,” are peppered throughout her journal through pregnancy – she is currently 10 weeks along with her second masterpiece.
